Staff Credentials and Certifications

Each of our LLCC staff are screened to insure that your child will be around trained, caring, loving, and responsible individuals.

  • All teachers and substitutes must be a minimum of 18 years of age (16 years for aides) and must pass criminal and sexual offender records checks through both the State Police and Social Services.
  • Each of our staff members will receive CPR and First Aid training and certification and are required to attend various workshops and trainings every year for personal and professional enrichment.
  • Each are also required to provide annual staff health reports certified by a practicing physician stating that the staff member is free from any disability which would prevent them from caring for children
  • Lead preschool teachers should have or currently be pursuing one of the following educational backgrounds:
  • An endorsement or bachelor’s degree in a child-related field from a college or university
    Have three months of childcare experience and either a one year early childhood certificate or a child development credential
    Other staff are required to have between 12-24 hours of course training, depending on the position for which they are hired.
  • All staff are required to participate in on-going training and education annually.

Holly Cramer

About Holly...

Holly has a Bachelors in Education and has been working with children since her teenage years. She worked as a substitute for the Gloucester County public schools and taught first and second grade for 4 years at a private school. For the past 12 years she has served as both Director or Administrator for L.L.C.C. where her passion for loving and nurturing children as well as serving families is paramount.

Dawn McDermott

Facilities & Systems Manager

About Dawn...

Dawn has been with Little Lights since September 2012 and has been an asset to this team. Before working at LLCC, she worked in the public schools in Lancaster and New Kent Counties. She graduated from Longwood University with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies in May 2009. She has 2 teenage sons who like to play sports which keeps her busy as well as her love for serving at Bridgeport Church.

Jena Wells

Marketing Director & Finance Manager

About Jena...

Jena has an A.A. in Applied Science and Business Management .She has worked with both marketing and children in many of her career fields including her position of managing a TaeKwonDo studio and her previous church working as the Director of Operations. Jena loves sharing her life with her husband and 2 sons. Her passion is to inspire woman and children alike through reminding others that we are all here for a purpose!

Nicki Gray

Child Development Specialist

About Nicki...

Over the past 20 years, Nicki has trained in many areas of the Childcare field, with a focus on special needs: autism, TBI, ADHD and domestic violence. She had earned certificates from Oklahoma State and an A.A. from R.C.C. She is CPI certified and her second language is American Sign Language.

About Kristen...

Kristen has been in the Early Childhood field for 24 years and has held positions ranging from being a teacher to a director . She graduated in 1997 from Holy Family College in Philadelphia with a B.A. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.

Heather Jonas

Heather has worked in the Early Childhood field for 14 years . She is currently enrolled at Walden University planning to graduate at the end of 2017 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development with a specialization in Administration and Management.

Jessica Williams

About Jessica...

Jessica is the mother of a beautiful little girl. She has been in early childhood for 8 years and has her Early Childhood Certificate. Jessica has been at Little Lights since October 2010. During her spare time, she loves to draw, shop and spend time with her daughter.

Chelsea has been working with young children for 10 years with 3 years in a preschool setting. She is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. In her spare time, she likes to keep up with her studies and spend time with her closest friends.
